Christmas

Helping Grandma make pie crusts for the pumpkin pies from Thanksgiving.

These are pics from our Christmas photo shoot.

 Ahhh, giving the reindeer love.
Christmas morning.  She started out a little tired due to getting home late Christmas Eve but once she saw that things were in her stocking, she kept digging.
Finally she was awake enough to get excited for her new bike.
Playing with Uncle Eric's new toy light saber.
And finally, her Little People Castle (which took David almost an hour to put together).  She loved to help unwrap everything so she was great help.  Merry Christmas Maci Mae.  You have still been our best present yet!

Halloween and Birthday

Maci definitely looked forward to Halloween.  This is my favorite holiday so I, of course, decorate the house which allowed Maci to enjoy and understand the "funness" of Halloween.  Earlier in the year we visited Maci's cousins in Denver and they had these cute Minnie Mouse shoes that we brought home.  About a week before Halloween, Julie found the costume and sent it.  Maci was so excited when she was finally able to wear everything to the ward Trunk or Treat.  She even got into the games and then really liked going to each car and saying Trick or Treat.  It was great to see her excited in that child-like way for a holiday.

And of course, the ever SO EXCITING BIRTHDAY!  I believe we celebrated 3 or 4 birthdays not too long before November so Maci knew what to expect coming into her big day.  We would keep telling her, "Maci's birthday is coming up" and eventually she would repeat it every day.  We would practice singing the song, too.

The theme was Minnie Mouse and I found these cute cupcake ideas on Pinterest.  Maci ate the cookies and then chewed on the wrapper but not the cupcake itself.  Oh, and of course, ate the ice cream.  That is her absolute FAVORITE!  We put a plastic tablecloth on the floor and had a picnic and ate pizza.  All the girls were given a candy necklace and everyone got a turn to wear the tiara.  And color a Minnie Mouse birthday picture.  It all came together well, except we were missing one thing: Chelsea and Cory.  They were scheduled to come but a nasty snowstorm prevented them from driving.  Here is to another blessed year with a blessed daughter.  I hope we can live through the "terrible twos."
