It was a cloudy, rainy day on May 29, 2011. There was no hint of sun on this gloomy morning but how the sun shone so brightly as precious Maci was about to be given a baby's blessing. She had been glowing since the day before when she visited the temple. She woke up as happy as always and excitedly got into her beautiful blessing dress that her paternal grandmother made. Little did she know that it was made especially for her years ago. With a top notch and a pretty pink bow and two very cute teeth to enhance her smile, she was ready. Her dad was a bit worried about her being older and wondered if she maybe would sleep through it. But she would never! Not on this important day. This was her day and nothing was going to dampen it. When the time arrived, her dad came to get her and sat quietly, intently listening to the beautiful blessing our Father in Heaven had for her. She had two angels sitting in the congregation that were mentioned in her blessing. Two wonderful people who loved her more than they will ever know. Two people whose unconditional love has made an eternal impact on their lives. This unconditional love will encourage Maci through life.
What a sweet and special spirit this daughter of God is. We are lucky to have her as a daughter and will always strive to be the nurturing parents she needs for mortality. We have so much to learn from her and look forward to every moment.
